The 2006-2007 Metrowest Basketball Season has come to an end.
Congratulations to all 19 DS teams that participated this season. A special
congratulations to 2 DS teams.
First, the Division 4 7th grade girls, coached by Doug Collins, Jamie
Simms and John Salamone for winning the D4-7G Championship! The 7th grade
girls finished as the 3rd seed, at 8 - 4. They won all 3 of their play-off
games, beating the number 1 seed in the semifinals. They clinched the D4-7G
championship with a big win over a team they'd previously lost too during
the regular season.
Second, the Division 3 6th grade boys, coached by Mark Linehan and
Bob VanDore for winning 15 games in a row this season. They were a perfect
12 - 0 during the regular season, and they were the number 1 seed in the
play-offs. What an accomplishment by these 2 DS teams!
Thank you to all the players, parents, coaches, and volunteers who helped
make this season a success. Best wishes to all of the veteran 8th grade
boys and girls who have finished their Metrowest careers. I hope you all
continue to play the best team game ever, whether in high school or pick-up
games, just keep playing the game with Raider pride!
